Amanda Lingle

Mandy Lingle grew up in Manvel, Texas, graduating 6th in her class from Alvin High School in 1996 where she lettered for three years in volleyball. She then attended and graduated from Texas A & M University with a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from the Mays School of Business. During her undergraduate years, she earned recognition in Phi Eta Sigma, an A&M freshman honor society; received the A&M Patrick D. Mahoney Business Computing Award; recognized on the Dean’s list; and inducted into the Sigma Iota Epsilon A&M Business School Honor Society.

After graduating from Texas A&M, Mandy began working for newly renamed Accenture (formerly Arthur Andersen) where she was an analyst working with clients such as Duke Energy, Constellation Power Source, and Airgas to understand their businesses and their hurdles in order to implement solutions and paths forward.  While consulting, Mandy recognized the importance of a deeper understanding of accounting and began pursuit of her master’s degree in Accounting from the University of Houston at Clear Lake. During her graduate years, she was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, an international honor society for business students, and Beta Alpha Psi, an honors society for accounting students.  Upon completion of her master’s degree, Mandy became a Risk Assessment Associate at Weaver and Tidwell, working with clients to better streamline processes, implement controls, and test those processes and controls.

Mandy has been a resident of Victoria since 2017 when her husband, John Lingle, accepted a promotion to Texas Ranger where he serves to protect Victoria, Jackson, and Calhoun counties.  Together they have two children. Broday attends Howell Middle School and Kayla attends DeLeon Elementary.

Mandy has also been a substitute teacher in Pearland ISD, Sharyland ISD, and Victoria ISD, building relationships with teachers and staff along the way, and now bringing that perspective to the Board.  She is an active member of Parkway Church where she serves weekly as the 3rd-grade leader, bi-weekly as the Backpack Ministries Distributor for Howell and DeLeon, and monthly as a Pre-K teacher. Mandy volunteers regularly at the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent, Christ’s Kitchen, and Victoria Christian Assistance Ministries.

Mandy was elected to the VISD Board of Trustees for District 4 in 2021. She wants to be the voice of the students, teachers, staff, and community.  Having been in the VISD classroom while substitute teaching over the last several years, she believes she has a unique perspective to bring to the Board. Also, with her exposure to several other school districts, she can bring fresh new ideas. Mandy knows VISD students are the future of our city, and that they deserve the best quality education that can be provided.
