VISD Bond Oversight Committee

The Bond Oversight Committee (BOC) is seeking to fill two committee member seats.

The Bond Oversight Committee was established following voter approval of Proposition C - New Mission Valley Elementary School, a $25.845MM construction bond.

The Committee is made up of 14 participants; 12 were originally selected in March 2022. The BOC was established to provide radical transparency in the use of proceeds from the sale of bonds authorized by VISD. The charge of the Bond Oversight Committee is to serve as a community-based advisory group to monitor the effective and efficient implementation of the community-approved bond improvements.

Community members who are interested must be at least 18 years of age and reside within the VISD boundaries. The BOC will meet regularly throughout the entirety of the planning and construction of Mission Valley Elementary, which is currently estimated to be a two to three-year process.

The Bond Oversight Committee application form can be accessed at this link www.visd.net/bondoversight. The District will be receiving applications through September 30, 2022.
