Nursing students

On Wednesday, May 11, 17, Career & Technology Institute (CTI) students enrolled in Practicum in Health Science - Certified Nursing Aide earned their pin for the completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant program.

“I am very proud of the students for completing the program requirements,” said Health Science instructor Kayla Sralla. “This year proved to be another challenging year with COVID, and yet despite that, these students excelled in every way possible. They have worked hard and are eager for testing to earn their license as they enter the workforce.”

The practicum course is an unpaid capstone experience for students participating in a coherent sequence of courses in Health Science. The course is designed to give students supervised practical application and skills. Certified Nurse Aide certification is available at the conclusion of the course. The course is one year in length.

The Pinning Ceremony for nursing programs honors and celebrates their journey in healthcare. The practice of the pinning ceremony is standard throughout the United States, and the pin symbolizes competence to serve and provide healthcare to society.

The CTE has hosted many pinning ceremonies honoring Certified Nursing Assistants graduates and the pinning ceremony tradition.
