We are thrilled to announce the latest achievements of our Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) program, with a special focus on the Class of 2024, who will be the first P-TECH cohort to graduate. Our students have been working diligently to meet and exceed the Outcome Based Measures guidelines, and we are proud to share their remarkable progress.
94% of the students were successful in completing 3 college hours prior to the completion of their sophomore year. Our students exceeded the 50% requirement in the PTECH Outcome Based Measures guidelines.
76% have been successful on at least 9 college credit hours prior to the completion of their junior year. Our students exceeded the 40% requirement in the PTECH Outcome Based Measures guidelines.
The Outcome Based Measures (OBM) guidelines require that 40% of the cohort should earn at least 15 college hours by the time they graduate. 41% of our seniors met the successful completion of 15 college credit hours by the end of their junior year, exceeding the requirement prior to entering twelfth grade.
It's important to highlight that the Class of 2024 will be the pioneering P-TECH cohort to graduate, setting a high standard for future classes. Their dedication and commitment to academic excellence are truly commendable.

If you are a current VISD 8th grader and are interested in a P-TECH pathway the CHOICE application window will open on November 7, 2023, at 8 am, and it's your chance to secure your future. With a high demand for CHOICE education, a lottery selection process might just be your golden ticket to success. Don't leave your future to chance! Apply early and stand out from the crowd. The application will close at 5 p.m. on December 15, 2023.
