Empowering Families: Victoria ISD's Saturday Vape Education Classes

In an effort to address the growing concerns surrounding vaping among students, Victoria ISD, in collaboration with Mid-Coast Family Services, is taking proactive steps to support families.

House Bill 114 mandates have prompted the establishment of a comprehensive vaping education program aimed at helping parents and guardians understand and combat this issue effectively.

What to Expect

Parents and guardians of students with a vaping offense are encouraged to enroll in the Saturday Vape Education Classes, which are designed to provide valuable insights and strategies. These informative sessions will take place every Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the VISD Connections facility. The curriculum is thoughtfully structured to include 30-minute lessons, interactive group discussions, and engaging activities.

Parent-Student Participation

It's important to note that parents and guardians are required to attend these classes alongside their children. This joint participation is crucial for fostering open communication and ensuring that both parties gain a comprehensive understanding of the issue. Moreover, attendance in these classes will be considered towards placement in the Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP).

No Cost to Families

One of the most significant advantages of this initiative is that it comes at no financial cost to families. Victoria ISD is committed to making these services accessible to all, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder participation. This initiative empowers both students and parents with practical tools to prevent vaping and intervene effectively if their child is caught in the act.

Registration Information

To register for these invaluable classes, please visit Saturday Vape Education Class Form. We encourage all concerned parents and guardians of students who have been caught vaping or in possession of a vape pen at school to take advantage of this opportunity to equip themselves with the knowledge and skills needed to address vaping-related issues within their families.
