Margaret Pruett

Margaret Pruett was born in Abilene, Texas, at Dyess Air Force Base to Yolanda and Pablo Rodriguez. She was an honors graduate of Sinton High School, and after high school, she attended Del Mar College and Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. When she married and moved to Victoria in 1994, she attended Victoria College and the University of Houston Victoria. In 2013, she graduated with honors from Commonwealth Funeral Institute in Houston.

Margaret and her husband, Houston, have three children: Malana, a Victoria High School graduate, Sam Houston State University, and Pepperdine University. She is an attorney in California. Nicole is a graduate of Victoria West High School, Victoria College, and the University of Houston with a Master's degree in Biomedical Science. She's planning to attend Texas A&M College of Pharmacy in Kingsville. Bear, a graduate of Victoria West High School who attended Victoria College and is an apprentice electrician; he is working his way toward a Master's Electrician License.

Margaret has always loved being part of the public school system. She was an employee of Sinton ISD as a substitute teacher while attending college and then with Victoria ISD, first as a permanent substitute teacher and later as a bilingual kindergarten/first-grade teacher's assistant. She has held office and helped with parent-teacher organizations, booster clubs, and many fundraising events.

Margaret's passion for public school carries over to her drive to help her community. Through the many volunteer organizations she's involved with, she organizes and helps with the community in Church events. She was part of the Altar Society and teaches CCD to children at Holy Family Catholic Church. Margaret cares deeply for the community and has helped families as a provisional funeral director through her role in the diocese of Victoria. Currently, she is a legal assistant at Anderson, Smith, Null & Stofer, LLP.
