VISD Champion of the Month

On Monday, September 26, Victoria ISD selected Brandi Farmer, a paraprofessional at Victoria East High School, as its September Champion of the Month.

VISD and Atzenhoffer Chevrolet partnered in May 2021 to highlight one VISD staff member each month as its Champion of the Month. This staff member is nominated by their peers for showing commitment to going above and beyond in everything they do each and every day.

At VISD, we know our best work is done in partnerships and groups, all while aiming toward a common goal. The goals of the district are larger than the team, and the goals of the team are larger than the individual. Our Champion of the Month lives this belief every day and in turn, receives a brand new Atzenhoffer Chevrolet truck to drive around for the next month.

When asked how it feels to have been honored with this award, Farmer stated, “I’m very shocked, but I am so honored. It feels good to know that I am appreciated. I am just shocked!”

Farmer received one of the 24 nominations across the district for September.

Caitlyn Carnes, a Special Education teacher at Victoria East High School, nominated Farmer. “Being a paraprofessional in an ABA setting means a lot of diaper changes, some very tough behavioral challenges, an extreme level of patience, and a lot of knowledge of each student and their specific needs,” said Farmer. “Brandi takes on all of that AND assists me as I learn my new role… I am in awe of her work ethic and wish everyone could have a heart as caring and compassionate as hers. VISD is very lucky to have Brandi!”

From VISD, we thank you, Brandi, for making us #VISDProud!
