At the April 21 VISD School Board meeting, trustees unanimously approved the ranking of the Architectural Services RFQ for the Mission Valley Elementary Bond Project; Rawley McCoy & Associates Architects (RMA) was selected.

RMA is a local architecture firm established in 1995 and has over 26 years of service backed by half a century of combined experience with its partners.

“We are elated,” said Billy Berger, vice president of RMA, after being selected for the project. “We’ve been trying to do a larger project for VISD for some time now because this is our hometown. We work here and have people who went to that actual school working for the firm so we are ecstatic about the opportunity. We’re ready to go.”

In total, the District received interest from ten firms. On Monday, May 18, a nine-person interview committee, including two Bond Oversight Committee members, held in-person interviews with the four most highly rated firms.
