Beth Rush

On Wednesday, March 2, Victoria ISD selected its first Champion of the Month of 2022 with Beth Rush, office clerk at Shields Elementary, receiving the honor.

VISD and Atzenhoffer Chevrolet partnered in May 2021 to highlight one VISD staff member each month as the Champion of the Month. This staff member is nominated by their peers for showing commitment to going above and beyond in everything they do.

At VISD, we know our best work is done in partnerships and groups while aiming towards a common goal. The goals of the district are larger than the team, and the goals of the team are larger than the individual. Our Champion of the Month lives this belief every day, and in turn, receives a brand new Atzenhoffer Chevrolet truck to drive around for the next month.

“This was a fantastic surprise,” said Rush upon receiving her truck. “I appreciate it beyond belief. Never in a million years would I have thought anything like this would happen. I want to thank all the staff here and everyone involved for this amazing gesture.”

Rush received two of the 26 nominations across the district for March.

David Leason, physical education teacher at Shields, along with Sarah West, school nurse at Shields, nominated Rush. Both commented on her dedication to the school while always having a smile on her face, stating “She is very dedicated to her work here at Shields Elementary School and is always greeting the students with a cheerful smile each day in the front office” and “If there is one person that can do so many tasks with a smile and truly love her job and her school, her name is Beth Rush and we are proud she is a Shields Shark,” respectively.

From VISD, we thank you, Beth, for making us #VISDProud!
