Oct. champion of the month

On Monday, Oct. 4, Victoria ISD reintroduced its year-long ‘Champion of the Month’ series, with the selection of Adela Garcia, lead custodian at Rowland Elementary, as the district’s October Champion of the Month.

VISD and Atzenhoffer Chevrolet partnered in May 2021 to highlight one VISD staff member each month as the Champion of the Month. This staff member is nominated by their peers for showing commitment to going above and beyond in everything they do.

Each month, the winner receives a brand new Atzenhoffer Chevrolet truck to drive for the next month.

Garcia was one of 13 staff members across the district nominated for October.

Kelly Wyatt, Rowland Elementary school nurse, stated that despite custodial staffing issues, Garcia “has done a great job, all with a smile on her face, and a good sense of humor. Her dedication to her job, and to keep our school clean and safe has not gone unnoticed.”

Stephanie Egg, Rowland Elementary assistant principal, echoed Wyatt’s nomination, saying Garcia “strives to keep our school running and looking sharp. Every day she comes in with a smile on her face and is ready to conquer the day no matter the obstacles. Our campus couldn’t show Rowland pride without her.”

From VISD, we thank you, Adela, for making us #VISDProud!
