Victoria East High School recently received a $2,000 grant from GENYOUth as part of the COVID-19 Emergency School Meal Delivery Fund. This funding is a direct result of the Taste of the NFL @ Home.
Since VISD is already providing free meals across the district, the awarded grant funds will be used to replace parts worn out on VEHS’ meal sealing machine used for take-home meals.
VISD submitted multiple applications for its schools across the district. Each application is reviewed separately on a rolling basis and the district will receive individual notices for each school that is approved for funding. VEHS is the only school that has been approved thus far.
GENYOUth, formed in 2010, is a nationally recognized youth wellness organization that partners with other organizations with a shared purpose: creating healthy school communities by empowering students and providing the resources for youth to build healthy, high-achieving futures. Since GENYOUth’s inception, the organization has provided over $100 million in grants and equipment to schools around the U.S.
