The Titan Debate Team from Victoria East High School delivered an amazing performance this past weekend at the UIL Regional Academic Meet, proudly showcasing the excellence and competitive spirit of VEHS students.
Among the standout achievements, Kiley Powell captured an impressive 3rd place finish in Lincoln Douglas debate, earning her a prestigious spot at the UIL State meet in Austin next month. Kiley’s success marks a significant individual accomplishment and adds to a growing legacy of excellence for the Titan Debate program.
With Kiley’s qualification, the VEHS Titan Debate Team has achieved a remarkable milestone — qualifying for the UIL State Meet in all three major categories: Congressional Debate CX (Policy) Debate, and now Lincoln Douglas Debate. This is the first time in school history that the team has secured state appearances across the board, a testament to the dedication, resilience, and skill of the Titan debaters.
The Titan Debate Team looks forward to continuing their momentum as they prepare for the UIL State Meet. We wish Kiley luck in Austin and celebrate the bright future for VEHS Debate!
