VISD Communications

The Victoria ISD Communications Department proudly accepted 11 prestigious awards at the Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) annual conference held in Sugar Land, Texas. The awards, which recognize excellence in education communications, were announced during TSPRA’s annual Star Awards ceremony on February 28, 2024.

The honored work, created between July 1, 2022, and June 30, 2023, showcased the dedication and creativity of Victoria ISD's communication professionals in effectively conveying the district's message.

Victoria ISD emerged as a standout at the event, earning recognition as a Crystal Finalist in addition to securing six Gold Star honors and four Silver Star Honors across various categories. Notably, this marks the third year in a row that Victoria ISD Communications has received multiple Star Awards, underscoring the department's commitment to excellence under the leadership of Executive Director of Communications and Public Relations Ashley Scott.

Reflecting on the achievement, Ashley Scott commented, "Receiving these awards is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team at Victoria ISD Communications. Each accolade represents our unwavering commitment to effectively share the stories and successes of our district with our community. We are honored to be recognized by TSPRA and remain dedicated to continuous improvement in our communication efforts."

In the last three years alone, Victoria ISD Communications has garnered two Crystal Commendation Certificates of Merit, along with 16 Gold Star Awards and six Silver Star Awards. This ongoing recognition underscores the department's consistent pursuit of excellence in education communications.

The TSPRA Star Awards recognize communicators across various educational institutions and organizations for their exemplary work across print and electronic media categories. Entries are evaluated by independent judges, and awards are conferred based on set criteria, including bronze, silver, and gold stars.
