vehs speech and debate

This past weekend, the Victoria East High School Titan Speech and Debate team made their way to Harlingen to participate in the National Speech and Debate Association (NDSA) Gulf Coast National Qualifying Tournament. We are thrilled to announce that four outstanding Titans have secured their spots to compete in the prestigious National Speech and Debate Tournament scheduled for June.

In a testament to their dedication and talent, the following students have earned the honor of representing our school on the national stage:

  • Jack Yoast: Senate Congressional Debate

  • Anahi Medrano: Lincoln Douglas Debate

  • Collin Flessner and Diego Cueller: CX Policy Debate

We are proud to highlight that three of our exceptional students have not only qualified in their primary events but have also demonstrated their versatility and excellence by securing qualification in a second event:

  • Jack Yoast: US Extemporaneous Speaking

  • Diego Cullar: US Extemporaneous Speaking

  • Collin Flessner: House Congressional Debate

This remarkable achievement marks a historic milestone for the VEHS Debate Team, reflecting their dedication, hard work, and exceptional talent. We extend our warmest congratulations to these remarkable students for their outstanding performance.

As they embark on this exciting journey to the National Speech and Debate Tournament, we wish them the best of luck. Their success not only brings pride to our school but also serves as an inspiration to their peers and the entire community.
