VISD Selects May Champion of the Month

On Thursday, May 18, Victoria ISD selected Ronald Davis, Victoria West High School Athletic Trainer as the May 2023 Champion of the Month.

VISD and Atzenhoffer Chevrolet partnered in May 2021 to highlight one VISD staff member each month as its Champion of the Month. This staff member is nominated by their peers for showing commitment to going above and beyond in everything they do each and every day.

At VISD, we know our best work is done in partnerships and groups, all while aiming toward a common goal. The goals of the district are larger than the team, and the goals of the team are larger than the individual. Our Champion of the Month lives by this belief every day and, in turn, receives a brand new Atzenhoffer Chevrolet truck to drive around for the next month.

Davis has received multiple nominations since the beginning of our Champion of the Month series in May 2021.

Victoria West High School Secretary Teresa Reeder was one of Davis’ nominators. “Ron Davis is the perfect example of what we expect from a VISD employee and even more so from a VWHS Warrior," said Reeder. “He is the epitome of what everyone should see in his work ethic and ability to understand the needs of others and act upon them. He has worked tirelessly in this district to make it proud.”

Karen Familo, Victoria West High School Data Processor, also nominated Davis. “Coach Davis has a great relationship with his students and coworkers,” said Familo. “He is always busy working with the students and/or helping with the miscellaneous tasks throughout the school. Coach Davis is always willing to help us out with whatever it is we need.”

“I’m really and truly blessed and humbled,” said Davis. “I’m not here to make myself look good; I’m here to help the kids do the best they can in finding the paths for them to go forward and make sure that whatever is needing to be done gets done. I’m definitely honored that this is my truck for the month!”

From VISD, we thank you, Ron, for making us #VISDProud!
