Victoria ISD will transition to ParentSquare as its districtwide communication platform beginning with the 2026-27 school year, following ParentSquare's acquisition of Remind.
As part of this transition, Remind will no longer be used by Victoria ISD beginning July 27, 2026. ParentSquare will become the district's primary communication platform for school, classroom, and group communications.
In addition to receiving school communications, parents and guardians will now receive notifications regarding student absences through ParentSquare. Parents and guardians will be able to email parent absence notes directly to the campus attendance office and reply to the ParentSquare absences notification to submit parent absence notes. This will replace the Student Absence Form used to submit student absence notes and provide families with a convenient, one-stop location for both communication and attendance reporting.
ParentSquare brings school communications and attendance reporting together in one convenient location, allowing families to receive messages through email, text message, mobile app notifications, phone calls, or a web browser. Communications are also automatically translated into a family's preferred language.
"Students are most successful when families have the information they need to stay involved in their education," said Ashley Alvarez, Executive Director of Communications & Public Relations for Victoria ISD. "Our goal is to make this transition as seamless as possible for families. ParentSquare provides a user-friendly platform that brings school communications and attendance reporting together in one place, making it easier for parents to stay connected and informed."
Through ParentSquare, families will be able to:
Receive school, classroom, and group communications in one place
Report student absences directly through the ParentSquare app or website
Stay informed about school news, events, and important updates
Communicate directly with teachers and school staff
View calendars, photos, and announcements from their school
Customize how and when they receive notifications
Parents and guardians will automatically be connected to ParentSquare using the contact information currently on file with Victoria ISD. No registration code is required.
To maximize the ParentSquare experience, families are encouraged to download the free ParentSquare mobile application, available for both iOS and Android devices. ParentSquare can also be accessed through a web browser.
Additional information, including account activation instructions, notification preferences, attendance reporting guidance, and support resources, will be shared with families throughout the beginning of the school year. ParentSquare resources and updates are also available on the Back-to-School section of the Victoria ISD website.
