Victoria ISD Career & Technical Education and Counseling Department to Host Career and College Expo Night

The Victoria ISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Counseling Department are pleased to announce the upcoming Career and College Expo Night.

This event is designed to empower eighth through twelfth graders and their parents and guardians with valuable insights into the myriad of educational and career pathways available to them.

Date: Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024

Time: 5:30-7 p.m.

Location: VISD Success Academy (VSA)

Career and College Expo Night is a crucial opportunity for students and their families to discover the many educational and career possibilities awaiting them. The event will feature informative presentations on YouScience and SchoolLinks by VISD, and short presentations from the University of Houston-Victoria (UHV) and Victoria College (VC), all of which will take place in the VSA cafeteria.

After the presentations, attendees will have the chance to explore a wide array of booths set up in the gym. These booths will provide a unique opportunity for students, parents, and guardians to ask personalized questions and receive guidance regarding their educational and career aspirations.

This event is strategically scheduled before the course selection process for grades 8 through 12 to ensure that students and their families are well-informed about the various options available to them. By attending Career and College Expo Night, students will be better equipped to make informed decisions about their educational journeys. Additionally, please note that our secondary campuses will also host Parent Night events for incoming 6th and 9th-grade students, providing valuable campus-specific opportunities and insights for families.

"We are excited to bring together our Career and Technical Education and Counseling Departments to host this informative event," said Brandi Henke, District Counseling Director at VISD. "This evening promises to be a valuable resource for our students and their families as they consider their future educational and career pathways. We encourage all eighth through twelfth graders and their parents and guardians to join us for this enlightening event."

Career and College Expo Night is an event that aims to inspire and guide students in growing their genius and Finding Their ‘AND’.

VISD welcomes all eighth through twelfth graders and their families to attend this event and explore the exciting possibilities that lie ahead.
