VISD's CTE programs collaborate with business, industry, and higher education to combine academics, workplace knowledge, and the skills that are essential to prepare the future workforce to succeed in an ever-changing global economy.

These programs offer students the opportunity to earn industry-recognized certifications, allowing for a seamless transition into the workforce upon graduation. These certifications and training can assist students to obtain a job that could pay for college or start a career straight out of high school. Many of the CTE courses offered are articulated with post-secondary institutions, so students are eligible to earn college credit at the same time as earning high school credit at no additional cost to students. Students will continue to test until the end of June.

More students earning IBCs is the District’s Strategic Plan finding of ‘All VISD students will find their “AND” in action.’ Through multiple opportunities of exposure, experience, and pursuit, students are exploring pathways and gaining opportunities through academic and technical programs for a successful launch following graduation.
