The Victoria ISD Board of Trustees is accepting applications for any community members who wish to be considered as a nominee to the Victoria Central Appraisal District Board of Directors.

Applicants will be reviewed by the VISD Board of Trustees, who will nominate and vote on an individual to be appointed to the Victoria Central Appraisal District Board of Directors.

"We are thrilled to make this opportunity available to our community as it brings additional voices to the forefront and builds ownership opportunities for our stakeholders,” said Mike Mercer, President of the VISD Board of Trustees. “I encourage anyone with interest in how our taxing authorities operate to apply."

To be eligible to serve, the applicant must be a current resident of the District and must have resided in the District for at least two years immediately preceding the date of taking office. An employee of a taxing unit that participates in the District cannot serve on the Board; however, an elected official or member of the governing body of a participating taxing unit may serve. Additional eligibility requirements can be found in the Appraisal District Director’s Manual from the Victoria Central Appraisal Office.

All community members who wish to be considered are asked to complete an online form, at https://www.visd.net/page/vcad-board. The form will close on Tuesday, Sept. 28, at noon.
