Mr. Edge graduated from Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, and North Texas State University in Denton. Mr. Edge began his teaching career in Elementary Music in Waco ISD, and then taught band with Jim Popham in Boling TX, where their bands consistently earned Sweepstakes Awards at the middle school and high school level. They also led the Boling High School Marching Band to the UIL State Marching Band Contest in Austin for two consecutive years in 1993 and 1995. This was the first time in the school’s history any band had attended the state contest.

After leaving Boling, Mr. Edge moved to Victoria, where he is currently the VISD Director of Fine Arts.  He formerly was the Director of Bands at Victoria Memorial High School and Victoria East High School. In his 20 years of teaching in Victoria, the Marching Bands earned UIL Region 1st Divisions and attended UIL Area Marching Contest every year, competed in UIL Area Marching Finals, the UIL State Marching Band Contest, earned consistent UIL Sweepstakes Awards, and was a State Finalist in TMEA 4A Honor Band. Mr. Edge’s students consistently earned medals at UIL Region and State Solo & Ensemble Contest, and earned chairs in the TMEA Region Band, TMEA Area Band, and Texas All State Band. His students traveled the United States performing in California, Florida, Indiana, Louisiana, Missouri, and New York. Mr. Edge is in his 35th year in Education and is a member of PBM, TFAA, TMAA, TMEA, TBA, PMA, TAEA, TDEA and TETA.
