VPN Staff Login

To install the VPN on a distict laptop you will need to put in a Technology Department work order.
 
To install the VPN on a home computer you must be off-campus and then:
  1. Click on the Staff Login link located at the top of this page. If you get a warning, click "Advanced" or "Details" then "Proceed to 208.93.60.227" or "Go on to the webpage." See examples below.VPN
  2. Enter your VISD computer username and password and click Log In.
  3. This will take you to the Global Protect SSL-VPN Download page for the VISD VPN..
  4. Click on the Operating System version you are running and download the application. Most Windows computers (7-10) will use the 64 bit version. 
  5. Follow the installation steps of the application, selecting yes to any prompts your computer may pop up with for security.
  6. Find the application “Global Protect” in your computer's start menu, and launch it.
  7. Put in your VISD username and password. In the portal type in “208.93.60.227”, click apply.
  8. It will then log you in, click continue if you get a pop up window stating a certificate issue.
  9. Once connected you will be able to access internal websites as if at a district building, you may use any current bookmarks.
  10. When done, bring back up the program and click disconnect to get back to your normal internet connection.
  11. To gain access again, simply launch the “Global Protect” application and click connect.

*SOFTWARE UPDATE NOTICE*
 

VISD Technology Department will be updating the Global Protect VPN portal address.

You will need to change your Global Protect VPN Portal Address after opening the Global Protect Program.

To input the new Global Protect settings you will have to go down to the bottom right corner of your screen and find
your Global Protect icon that looks like a globe and click it. You may have to click the arrow to show the rest of your
menu to find it.
Once you click that globe you should get a connection window. When you see this window you will need to click the
settings icon in the top right corner of the screen. Then, click “Settings”
When you click the “Settings” button it will bring up a new “Global Protect Settings” window. In this window click the
“Add” button.
When you click the “Add” button it will bring up another new window and in this window it will be asking for a “Portal
Address”. Please type in “208.93.60.227” as seen in the screenshot below. Then click “Save”
Once you click save, on the previous window you will see two sets of numbers. Click "199.58.134.125" as shown in the
screenshot below then click “Delete”. Another window will pop up asking again if you would like to delete. Click
“Delete” again.
Once you delete the old address, click the X in the top right corner of the screen. That’s it! You’re done! You can now
connect as usual to the Global Protect VPN.
