How do I get to the Technology Department at VISD Administration Bldg?
 
How do I get help from the Technology Department?
 
If you need assistance from the Technology Department, you can put in a work order through the "Helpdesk" application in Eduphoria, located by clicking on the "Eduphoria" link in the the "Staff" menu on the top right corner of the  www.visd.net webpage.
What if I cannot log in to a computer?
 
All VISD employees are given access to log on to district computers. You are initially assigned a temporary password that you are required to change after your first log in.  If you do not remember your username/ password, or are in need of password assistance, please call the Technology Department at 361-788-9325.
The computer is telling me I need to change my password!
 
All VISD employees are required to change their computer log in password once a year. To change your computer password, log on to any district computer, press the CTRL+ALT+DEL keys on your keyboard, then  select "Change a password." You will be required to enter your old password, your new password, and then your new password again to confirm the change.

Do I have email?
 
If you are a VISD employee or student, then yes. All VISD employees and students are provided with email through Office 365. To get to your email click on the "VISD E-mail" link in the "STAFF" menu on the top right corner of the www.visd.net homepage. For more information about Office 365, you can follow the "Office 365 Guides" and "Office 365 Online Training" links located on the Technology Department's VISD Email (Office 365) webpage.
How do I change my email password?
 
 If you do not remember your username/ password, or are in need of password assistance, please call the Technology Department at 361-788-9325.
I have received an offensive email, what do I do?
 
Please send a screen shot any offensive messages that you receive to postmaster@visd.net. Please not forward the message. If you need help please call the Technology Department at 361-788-9325.
I have received a suspicious email, what do I do?
 
If you receive an email that looks suspicious, do not click on any links or attachments, as this could potentially lead to getting a virus. Often scammers will send an email that looks like it came from a legitimate company, but with some part about it that is just slightly off. If you need help determining the authenticity of an email, please call the Technology Department at 361-788-9325.
I am trying to receive an email message from outside the district and it is being blocked, why?

 

The district does not intentionally block any messages incoming or outgoing. There are some messages that we are required by law to filter.  These are generally any message using inappropriate language and/or content.  Beyond this, it is most often an issue communicating between the two mail servers.  In these instances, please forward as an attachment any messages indicating that your message was not accepted to postmaster@visd.net with a brief statement of events that lead to the rejection.

If you did not receive any feedback from the server then please note that with as much information as possible the sending email address and/or mail server address information.

Can I access email on my phone?
 
Yes! The Microsoft Outlook app is available to download from the app store for most phones. Office 365 email also works with other popular available email apps for phones and tablets.
 
Alternate email apps may require additional setup information. This information can be found by logging into your email,then clicking on the cog wheel icon for Settings and searching for "POP and IMAP settings."
