Margaret Pruett is the oldest child of Pablo and Yolanda Rodriguez, and an Honors graduate of Sinton High School. After High School, she attended Del Mar College and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. When she married and moved to Victoria in 1994, she attended Victoria College and the University of Houston-Victoria. In 2013, she graduated with Honors from Commonwealth Funeral Institute in Houston.
Margaret has always had a real passion for the public school system. She was an employee of Sinton ISD as a substitute teacher while attending college, and then with VISD, first as a permanent Substitute Teacher, and later as a Bilingual Kindergarten/First Grade Teacher’s Assistant. She has held office and helped with parent-teacher organizations, booster clubs, and many fund-raising events.
Margaret's passion for public school carries over to her drive to help her community. Through the the many volunteer organizations she is involved with, she organizes and helps with community and Church events. She is the Treasurer of the Altar Society and also teaches CCD to children at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral. Margaret cares deeply for all in our community and has helped families as a Provisional Funeral Director and through her role in the Diocese of Victoria. Currently, she is the Ministry/Safe Environment Coordinator at Holy Family Catholic Church.
Margaret and her husband, Houston, live near the center of the community, close to Victoria College. They have three children: Malana, a graduate of Victoria High School, Sam Houston State University, and Pepperdine University, who is now an attorney in California; Nicole, a 2015 West High School graduate currently in college working towards a Doctor of Pharmacy degree; and Bear, slated to graduate from West High School in 2020.
