Michael DiSanto was appointed to the open Super District 7 board position in February of 2010, currently serving his third term as a VISD Board Trustee. He is a member of the Leadership TASB family (Class of 2013). Mr. DiSanto’s VISD service spans from Trustee to mentoring, to participating in CTE/STEM committees.
His motivation to serve VISD and the community stems from working with children in various athletics/organizations in Texas over the past 15 years and meeting many parents during his coaching tenure. Both Mr. DiSanto and his wife Dotty have donated their time and efforts towards VISD, Victoria Youth Soccer Organization and the Victoria YMCA, coaching the athletes in those organizations, as well as working on the organizations’ boards.
As a volunteer in VISD, Mr. DiSanto assists various VISD campuses and the Victoria Business and Education Coalition (VBEC), talking with students on topics geared towards career planning and Engineering as a field of study (STEM Program). He enjoys helping the teachers and children on any of our VISD campuses as volunteering opportunities arise.
Mr. DiSanto grew up in Aliquippa, PA attending Hopewell High School. After stops in California (where he met his wife Dotty) and Iowa, he relocated to Victoria in 2000. Mr. and Mrs. DiSanto have two children who attended VISD schools since kindergarten on. Elizabeth (Class of 2015) is studying engineering at Texas A&M University and Michael attends Victoria West High School (graduation 2018). In his down time, Mr. DiSanto enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, music, weight training, and outdoor activities.
Mr. DiSanto holds a Mechanical Engineering Degree from the University of California, Davis (1990) and a Masters in Business Administration in Marketing/Finance from St. Ambrose University (2000).
