In February, we will learn if one of these artists are selected as state winners.  If so, their artworks are framed by TAEA and students are invited to a private reception in their honor.  The exhibit is shown at the Lower Rotunda of the Texas State Capitol Building and the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum.  This exhibition is part of Youth Art Month, a national celebration in March.  Last year, two VISD artists were selected for this honor.

Also the First Lady of Texas selects a group of artworks from the YAM State Capitol Exhibit to be showcased in the Governor's Business Office for one year.  Good luck to these students as they advance to the state competition.  We are so proud of your talent and dedication.  Also, congratulations to their art teachers and principals.
