Victoria ISD is pleased to announce that Jo Beth Jones will continue to serve in the role of principal at Howell Middle School for the 2020-2021 school year. Ms. Jones was previously selected for the role of Executive Director of Talent Acquisition, Support and Retention at the May Board of Trustees meeting.
“Upon careful thought and reflection, I’ve determined that my true calling is to serve the students and staff of Howell Middle School, especially during this challenging time,” stated Ms. Jones. “I am so proud and honored to help lead this amazing school.”
Ms. Jones has been the principal at Howell Middle School since 2016. “We are thrilled to see Ms. Jones at the helm of Howell again,” added VISD Superintendent Dr. Quintin Shepherd. “She is a tremendous leader and we are excited for the students, the staff and families at Howell.”
A Victoria native and VISD alumna, Ms. Jones has served the district as an assistant principal, assessment specialist, instructional coach, and teacher. She earned her Masters degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Houston-Victoria and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
District administrators will be working to fill the position of Executive Director of Talent Acquisition, Support, and Retention.
