Patti Welder Middle School Student Council Nationally Recognized

The Patti Welder Middle School Student Council has once again been recognized as an Honor Council by the American Student Council Association in partnership with The National Association of Elementary School Principals, for the 4th year!

Patti Welder is one of only 30 schools in Texas to receive this recognition. Middle School councils were selected based on their submission of projects that their council completed during the 2017-2018 school year in the areas of citizenship, community service, leadership, and school spirt as well as their student council constitution and election procedures. Councils were also required to submit letters of recommendation from their School Principal and Student Council President. The Patti Welder Middle School Student Council is under the advisement of head advisor Amando Raúl Cantú and co-advisor Tracey Carter.

The Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA) also established the TEPSA Student Leadership Award this year. We are VISD Proud that William Wood and Guadalupe Elementary Schools received this honor! The student leaders at each campus were required to demonstrate how their leadership has impacted the stakeholders at their schools, as well as how they serve their campus and community.
