VWHS Students Surprise Favorite Teacher

Mr. Jack Freyer's 3rd period AP Environmental Science class surprised their teacher with a special gift last week.

Freyer is an A&M Alum, and loves supporting their football team.

"I recognized his love for Aggies since the first day of school. He had talked about many of the football games, but when asked if he attended his answer was no, that it was kind of expensive," student Tarrah Walton said.

So, Miss Walton gathered her classmates, and together, they all pitched in and bought Mr. Freyer tickets to attend the A&M game at Kyle field Nov 11th!

"He is a great man that always gives to others and never expects anything in return," student, Jadyn Killian, said. "He is an exceptional teacher that goes out of his way to care for his students and their wellbeing. He has an impact on so many students and is a wonderful influence!"

The students were excited to give Mr. Freyer a gift that he would love, and see his reaction.

"He was so grateful and humbled," Walton said. "He thanked us but told us we didn’t have to do that, but we were overjoyed to give back to someone who does just that for everyone else!"

Mr. Freyer has taught with VISD for nearly 24 years, with 8 years at VWHS. He teaches 11th and 12th graders for aquatic science and AP environmental science.
